Delta Air Lines will soon offer free nationwide Wi-Fi

Delta Air Lines first announced plans to offer free Wi-Fi in March 2019 when CEO Ed Bastian said the carrier's goal was "to make Wi-Fi free with high quality. Debit". The Atlanta-based airline then began testing the service a few months later with a pilot two weeks in all cabins on select short, medium and long haul routes. Ed Bastians said at the time that it would take Delta about a year or two to roll out free Wi-Fi on all domestic flights. But the pandemic has struck and the airline industry has been hit the hardest. Now that air travel is starting to resume, it looks like Delta's plan to offer free Wi-Fi is also on track.

The internal memo, first reported by Thrifty Traveler, shows  Delta is re-testing the free service on select domestic flights, with plans to roll out free Wi-Fi on all flights soon domestic flight. 
The airline has announced that it will soon roll out free in-flight Wi-Fi  on its main domestic  routes, but no specific date has been revealed. But the internal memo says that by the end of 2024, Delta also plans to expand the free Wi-Fi to international routes. 
“Bringing our vision of the future of travel to life requires rigorous testing of our technology, testing every detail to ensure our customers get the speed and reliability they expect. their wait,” Glenn Latta, Delta general manager for inflight connectivity, 
told Thrifty Traveler. "We will be offering free Wi-Fi on  select  flights this summer to test our technology and gain valuable insights that will allow us to offer Wi-Fi on Delta. as quickly and reliably as possible for every customer."
